Rio Mesa’s Reign Has Ended

In a David and Goliath style match up, Cam High boy’s water polo ended Rio Mesa High’s 8 year, 82 game Pacific View League win streak, winning 9-8.

Dallas Donaldson saved ten goals to successfully overcome Rio Mesa High.

According to Chet Hardy, senior this is the first time Cam High has beaten Rio Mesa in the past 8 years.

Dominic Tassano lead Cam High with three goals.

Dallas Donaldson achieved 10 saves in a defensive effort. “I was excited to play and we kept our cool,  playing as a team,” said Dallas Donaldson about his performance,  ” That is what helped us win.”

Water Polo Coach Steve Wiegman said he was excited for the boys. “All the hard work during summer is paying off, and this win will increase their confidence.” Wiegman also had a message to all Cam High students:  “Scorpions, come on out and support our water polo as we make a run for our first Pacific View League championship!”

Cam High faces Rio Mesa again today for the  Pacific View championship title.
