Earth Day and Naturally Green
Earth Day is an annual celebration of the Earth and environment that takes place on April 22nd every year. This day intends to bring awareness to the importance of long-term ecological sustainability. Earth Day was originally created in April 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson to enforce and bring attention to environmental issues such as climate change, air and water pollution, global warming, and everyone’s carbon footprint.
On April 22nd, 2022. Naturally Green set up booths for an Earth Day showcase in the quad for the annual celebration of earth day. They included activities such as pot painting, thrift exchange booths, sustainable art, and other environmentally friendly activities. Naturally Green’s ultimate goal is to help and improve the environment and Earth Day is truly their time to shine. At the bottom of the article, there will be a gallery of pictures featuring Naturally Green’s Earth Day event.
There are countless ways you can help the Earth every day such as shopping for sustainable products including biodegradable items, multipurpose baggies, waste-free dish soap, and countertop compost systems. Planting trees in your front yard or even just becoming more aware of environmental sustainability and the importance of Earth Day can go a long way. As always, the three R’s (reduce, reuse, and recycle) are great to live by.
Earth Day is an important day to reflect on the importance of our planet and the steps we can take as a community to protect it. It is imperative that we are aware of our impact on the environment and try our best to live more sustainability.
