The possibility of a new turf field and track for Cam High by 2015 raises high hopes for some people.

On Wednesday, September 25 a school board meeting was held about Cam High’s new turf field and track. The idea is not set in stone, but there will be another informational meeting held on October 9 for the full opening plan.

The cost of the field, who will pay for it, and when it will be ready for league play for all topics of the September 25 meeting. But the answers are already clear: the new turf and field would cost around one million dollars and the Scorpion Athletic Booster Club would pay for it. The turf field and track should be ready by spring of 2015.

Mrs. Patty Baillie, athletic secretary and varsity football team mom attended the meeting to support the team. “I thought it was important for me to be there because it’s another body there to support the Boosters Club.”

“It’s been a long time coming,” said varsity head football coach Mr. Jack Willard. “I really appreciate all the people, especially the booster club, who helped make this happen.”

The Stinger will be there to cover the October 9 meeting.
