Breaking from Staff Reports: Dr. Kim Stephenson, associate principal at Cam High, was named as principal of the school this morning by the OUHSD Board of Trustees. Stephenson brings with her a wealth of experience and an already close relationship with students at Cam High.

Stephenson was a middle school administrator for five years and a classroom teacher for 10 years in the Oakland, Palo Alto, and Conejo Valley Unified School Districts. She was also a bilingual aide for two years in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

She also has served as a teacher, researcher, and grant program evaluator at U.C. Berkeley, Patten College, and Stanford University, where she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology.

She is an active member and discussion group leader for the Camarillo Branch of AAUW and one of the founding members and current president of the Ventura County Women’s Forum Collaborative.
